How do I qualify for Mensa?
Membership in Mensa is open to persons who have attained a score within the upper two percent of the general population on an approved intelligence test that has been properly administered and supervised. There is no other qualification or disqualification for membership eligibility.
The term “IQ score” is widely used but poorly defined. There are a large number of tests with different scales. The result on one test of 132 can be the same as a score 148 on another test. Some intelligence tests don’t use IQ scores at all. Mensa has set a percentile as cutoff to avoid this confusion. Candidates for membership in Mensa must achieve a score at or above the 98th percentile (a score that is greater than or equal to 98 percent of the general population) on a standard test of intelligence to qualify. However, you will not get access your numerical score/percentile, it is for admission purposes only.

What is the qualifying score?
Candidates for membership in Mensa must achieve a score at or above the 98th percentile (a score that is greater than or equal to 98 percent of the general population) on a standard test of intelligence to qualify.
How do I qualify to join Mensa Singapore?
Mensa Singapore conducts the Mensa Singapore Admissions Test (“MSAT”) for persons aged 14 and above to see if he or she qualifies for membership. The MSAT involves symbols and pictorial representations, and does not require knowledge of any particular language or mathematics.
If your child is below 14 years old, and you wish to admit your child to Mensa, you need to bring your child to any qualified Psychologist for a test such as the WISC-R test. If your child has undergone similar tests before, you may submit those test results to Mensa for consideration. Upon receiving of your report/test results from the psychologist, kindly forward it to Mensa Singapore. If the result meets Mensa criteria, we will revert to the parent/applicant submitting the test results/report. This is how Mensa Singapore presently accepts younger children to join the society.

If you see nothing on that page, it means the next test schedule is not out yet. Generally, we conduct an average of 6 tests a year. Note that registration for a particular date will be close once the capacity is full.
How soon can I get my test results?
How soon test results can be released depends on the availability and schedule of our busy volunteer testers/markers.
Our average turnaround time is around 3-8 weeks. This includes time for collating, marking, checking and sending out of results.
You can contact us to check if you do not receive your test results after 8 weeks.
Will I be given a score after taking the MSAT?
The Mensa Singapore Admission Test (“MSAT”) is used solely for qualification for membership in Mensa Singapore and should not be used for any other purpose.
The result is not meant to be used as an IQ test and you will also not be given an IQ score.
I already have some IQ test result. Can I use it for admission?
As a general guide, recognised IQ tests (e.g. WISC, WIAT, and not general ability or knowledge tests like GMAT, SAT, BAS) conducted by registered psychologists are more likely to be accepted.
If you have undergone such a test by a registered psychologist, feel free to submit it for our review and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
